Welcome to The Sana Soul
Updated: Jun 16
Hi there! Welcome to my very first blog post here at The Sana Soul. I am starting this blog for a number of reasons, the main one being I've always loved blogging and writing especially when I am passionate about the topic.
The word Sana means 'heal' in Latin. And that is exactly what journey I am on. Ive decided to document this journey because as I mentioned before I love to write and it has become a form of therapy to me. I also feel the things I will be discussing on the blog will be interesting to the people that are going through/wanting something similar or know of someone who is on a healing journey.
Unfortunately, I didn't just wake up one day and think "Celia, its time to check yo-self before you wreck yo-self." My healing epiphany was brought to me in the form of Cancer, twice. I was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2019 then went into remission half way through my chemo treatment and 6 months later was told the Cancer had relapsed, which is where Im at right now. Only difference is Im at Stage 1 and in a much calmer state than the first time round.
Cancer is truly scary, whether you've had it once, twice, three times, stage 1, stage 3...any form of it is a HUGE wake up call and incredibly confronting. It also doesn't help that it is such a taboo subject and if you have cancer you're doomed. We don't really celebrate the success stories enough and see how much of an impact it can make on someones life for the better. I know before my first diagnosis I wasn't really living. Crazy huh? The thing that can kill you makes you live better...
I want cancer to be less scary, I want people to read posts on here and feel safe, connected and not alone. So many people are battling through this and the more we can discuss it the better our journey will be. This blog isn't only for cancer patients/survivors, its for anyone who is wanting to live life again, to heal from the old version of them, work on them self emotionally and physically and anyone wanting to take control of how they live life.
This blog will be an abundance all things health, food, fitness, well-being, emotional support, me documenting my journey through round 2, or I like to call it Celia V2 and how I've decided to turn a new leaf.
I hope you find this an inspiring and uplifting space on the Internet.
I will see you all soon in my next post.
